Leo,   I thought I would drop you a line and let you know that we had a wonderful vacation at the house on the beach. It was private, beautiful with an ambience that made us really feel we were on island time in short order.   The house was well equipped and had so many features that made it seem like home. The owner even had much the same taste in literature, music and art. This affordable oceanfront, three-bedroom/two-bath rental offers a rare acre of tropical plants and cool ocean breezes, fronting miles of narrow, sandy beach and a swimming area 100 feet to the right of the rear beach access steps (off left from the upper right photo). Roomy and comfortable, this "ranch style" home features a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, piano, and a large outdoor dining lanai/patio. Guests like the one level casual style decor and a location that allows for much quicker day trips to Pearl Harbor, Waikiki and Haleiwa than some North Shore rental locations.

Just a five-minute drive to trendy Haleiwa Town, and 40 minutes to Honolulu, this is a great choice for a romantic retreat or family holiday. 10 minutes from Dillingham airfield for skydiving, glider rides, and hiking trails and 25 minutes from great family fun at the Kapolei Water Park.  There is a beach park about a mile down the road past the house with wonderful swimming. And a short walk down our beach to the right the swimming is excellent. It's a lot more than a swimming hole. Sea turtles are often seen feeding in front of the house and in December there were two Hawaiian sea lions (endangered species) who basked several times on the beach. From December through April whales can be seen breaching off shore.
